The Boston Globe’s 10 can’t-miss classical events includes our very own Bach Virtuosi Festival.
“For the third year in a row, Portland becomes a destination for all things Bach and Baroque in June. Cantatas, concertos, and cello suites featuring some of the country’s finest early-music makers can be heard in venues such as St. Luke’s Cathedral and the Etz Chaim Synagogue. Free master classes will be held at Portland Conservatory.”
Also… here is the latest Videos with the Virtuosi series with soprano Sherezade Panthaki and countertenor Jay Carter. We really like how these two emphasis the collaborative nature of the music… it is so delightfully un-diva like! Also anyone who describes chamber music as a dance party is all right in our book. These two singers wowed audiences with exquisite performances last summer and they will be right back here in Portland, Maine on June 17, 21, and 24.
